Olivia (Liv) Chapman is an experienced event manager, book festival programmer, event chair, conference facilitator and workshop leader.
Liv has worked on book festivals across the country as a programmer, event manager, interviewer and workshop leader. She is currently Interim Creative Director at Hexham Book Festival in Northumberland, and Programme Manager (Special Projects) with Word Up North on the BBC Contains Strong Language festival during Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. She is a freelance programmer with Cheltenham Festivals across the Literature and Science Festivals.
She has also worked as workshop leader and PR & Marketing consultant with the Society of Authors.
She has worked in Publishing and the Literature Development charity sector since 2005, and has worked on festivals and writer development projects across the country. Liv has engaged communities of all identities, faiths, ethnicities, and interests to write. Liv has also worked with schools and MATs to develop programmes of work to bring writers into schools to inspire children to read and write.
Liv’s training is in Marketing and PR (Chartered Institute of Marketing, 2009). She’s a graduate of the London School of Economics (BSc International Relations, 2005) and was part of the 2015 AMEX Leadership Academy, a Common Purpose Programme for non-profit leaders in partnership with the American Express Foundation that supports a new generation of Resilient Changemakers.
